Description
A weapon made for a character I'm going to draw in the near future. I still have to work on the mechanism inside it a bit though.
My first weapon concept.

I do agree with ZBlayde on the rope and such.
It would be innefective at best, when used like that.
You could make a saparate part on the weapon which would have 2 or 3 blades, either like a double dagger or like a throwing star sort-of config, that would be attached to a rope/thin chain. That could be more of an effective way of getting more reach, swinging it and slashing your opponent, whilst the chain could also be used as a defense, witht a small handle where the chain attaches to the hilt, and the 3 or 2 blades fan out. The whole piece being metal would make it have more momentum when swung, thus making it capable of doing some real damage.
Another variant would be a blade-mace thing. Hard to explain, but I think you can get a vague picture of what I mean.
You could even make it so that you assemble the blades you use for claws into the alternate swinging weapon.
There's some ideas.
